Summer Camps for Troubled Teens
Summer Camp is an option for youth that offers short-term programs. Summer camps help teenagers to achieve personal power, build self-confidence, as well as self-esteem. Additionally, summer camps are prosocial, designed to help teens build positive friendships. Camps are designed to help the teen to self-explore and self-express.
Summer camps are everywhere, offering a variety of events, activities, and focuses. Most camps are based in the mountains, surrounding lakes, offering water sports and aquatic activities such as swimming, canoeing, rafting, and the likes. Additionally, it is usually a great deal of fun. Camping, hiking, horseback riding, signing (around the campfire) are typical experiences.
Some camp experiences are based around themes such as Christianity, science, sports/athletics, leadership training, etc. It is a time where kids get a break from parents, and parents from kids, and everyone enjoys a rich experience.
Other camps revolve around social issues, such as eating disorders, government leadership programs, and diversification of culture exchanges.
