STORM RIDGE RANCH

Storm Ridge Ranch is a working ranch – They also have a Automotive Program where the students learn to work on cars – Very Strong mentoring program
ISSUES: low self-esteem, depression, lying, manipulation, physical outbursts, ADD, ADHD, ODD, alcohol and drug experimentation, substance abuse, eating disorders, truancy, declining grades in school, disrespect, refusing to follow rules, defiance, race and ethnic issues, running away, aggression, internet pornographic addictions, gender confusion, anger, stress, poor peer relationships, etc.
TERM – 3 month minimum then it goes month to month based on the students' issues and progress

TUITION - $3,950.00 per month (At this rate it is only $5.50 per hour to have trained professionals working with their child!)

AGES – 12-17 – Male & Female – Not Co-Ed – the students are separated

CAPACITY – 16 boys and 16 girls

INTAKE DAYS – They prefer Monday – Friday, however they will take emergency enrollments any day or time. Transport agents are fine as well.

REFERRAL FEE - $2,500.00

UNIFORMS? – No, the students wear their own clothing and a list is provided of what to bring

STUDENTS PER ROOM – 2-3 – some students may have private rooms if they are dealing with gender confusion, pornography issues, etc.

PARENT COACHING – When student reaches level 3, they begin to have one family therapy conference call per week

ACADEMICS – Accredited with Northwestern – The students use books and packets for their academics – transcript needed upon enrollment – 2 certified teachers in the class room, 1 is certified special education – Individual tutoring provided if a student needs it

PHONE CALLS HOME – Student does not call home for the first 2 weeks – They must reach level one and then they call home once per week – Students are also required to write to their parents once per week

UPDATES – Academics – sends 1 update per month – Therapist updates parents during the family therapy calls

MEDICAL – Students on medications is fine – however, they prefer that they are able to work with a student medication free to truly assess and see what the presenting issues are

ASSESSMENTS – Psychological Assessment is done upon enrollment if needed

THERAPY – Group therapy 4 times per month – Individual Therapy 1 time per week – Family therapy once per week

SPIRITUAL –This is a secular program

LEVEL SYSTEM – This program is ran on the level system – They have 6 levels to complete in order to graduate the program

Cooking - Staff and Students work together to prepare all meals – Each student will have the opportunity to cook several times during the week with a nutritionalist

Staff To Student Ratio – 1 staff to every 4 students

Activities – Students participate in campouts and cattle drives for the upper-level students – All students get involved in the auction for buying and selling cattle – Skateboarding, basketball, soccer and trips to the movies are just a few things that they do – They also take one trip in the summer to Lake Powell for the students that are progressing and working their program

START UP FEES - $2500.00 Enrollment fee – 1st month's tuition, $3,950.00, due upon enrollment – Total - $6,450.00
AFTERCARE PROGRAM - Storm Ridge has an After-Care-Package- that includes, a home contract that is worked out with you, your child, and the therapist. It outlines the expectations for when the student returns home. There is telephone contact with the staff when your child goes home so if there are presenting issues, the staff can offer advice and assistance. Any student that has completed the program is granted the privilege of returning, free of charge, for one month, if they relapse at home. Usually a month is all it takes to steer them back on the right path. Overall, the success rate of Storm Ridge is 87%-92% so the need for a student to return is a rarity.
